Being Whole Means Loving the Obstacles
It is hard to love and appreciate the things that frustrate you. The question though, is how much is that frustration holding you back? What parts of yourself do you need to wall off and protect from your own frustration?
It’s a subtle thing – you may think that what you are doing is keeping another person or a negative thought at a distance but, look closely at it. You may be keeping them at a distance but what is it “costing” you?
You cannot use a coffee filter to wash rice. It’s true that using one will keep any grains from falling through but the process will be so slow that you’ll never get your dinner made. You need to perfect your “by hand” method or get a fine strainer, enjoy eating the rice and accept that you lost a few grains during the washing process.
In the same way, we need to understand that imperfection is part of life. Allowing what you are blocking, and appreciating what you can about it will eventually bring more happiness, flow, and freedom to you.
